How far along? 38 weeks 5 days!
Weight gain/loss: I am still sticking by my stance that the scale is broken. I was once again weighed on a different scale and it said no gain! Not that I am complaining about not gaining any weight, I just worry that next week it will say another high number!
Maternity clothes? The only clothes I'm really comfortable in are yoga pants and tank tops. Thank goodness for Old Navy's stretch tanks. I literally have them in 9 colors.
Stretch marks? They are the markings of a warrior... or at least that's what I tell myself.
Sleep? What's that again? I hope to catch up this week before Avery comes... we'll see how that works out.
Best moment this week? Yesterday at 5pm. Last day of work for 3 whole months!
Movement: Is still slower since she has less room... I wonder if she knows that there is plenty of room out here....
Food cravings: I've noticed that I really want Slurpees. Justin and I used to get them all the time when we were dating and it's become a ritual again. So delicious!
Gender: Girl
Labor signs? No signs, but doc says we're still "making progress". We'll see on Monday!
Belly button in or out? It's out when I stand up or right after I eat, but goes back in when I am sitting down -- so weird.
What I miss? A few things. I am just ready to meet this little one.
What I am looking forward to? Meeting my precious baby girl.
Weekly wisdom: Put your feet up as often as possible.
Milestones: Starting maternity leave! One step closer!!!

38 Weeks of excitement
Yesterday we had our 38 weeks appointment. I was seeing a doctor I don't normally see and was informed the day before that all the doctors were double booked, so to expect a wait. Since my appointment was at the end of the day I didn't mind too much.
We got there are 4:30 because my appointment was at 4:45. After waiting in the waiting room until 5:05, the nurse finally called us back. She sat me down, put on the blood pressure cuff and then ran into another room with the doctor. Right before she closed the door she told me to wait until it beeps and then take the cuff off. She would be back to get us in a minute.
Umm. Okay....
So I did what she said and we waited for her to come back. Once she did -- 10 minutes later -- she weighed me and put us in a room to wait for doc. During the wait Justin and I were chatting and all the sudden hear another patient outside the room yell for the nurse. We could hear the husband sort of chuckling saying, "I think she wet herself."
I thought to myself, "No you idiot, her water just broke!"
Then I overheard the woman tell that to the nurse and the nurse say, "Well it looks like you're going to have your baby soon!"
This whole situation caused everyone to run even later and left us in the room for another 15 minutes. So around 5:30 the doctor finally came it. I didn't mind waiting because I was excited for that woman to be having her baby. Although, secretly I was jealous -- okay, well maybe not so secretly because as soon as he came in I said, "I'll have whatever she just had!"
He laughed, but said I would have to wait my turn. Dang!
Anyway, the rest of the appointment was quick and good.
BP: 128/66
Pulse: 71
Weight: No gain (what did you think I was really going to put it in print? HA!)
Fetal Heart rate: 140
Belly Measuring: 36 This is a good thing even though I am 38 weeks because it means she has dropped a little into the birth canal and is not taking up so much room in my belly -- it also explains my huge appetite lately because she's not pressing right up on my stomach!
I go in next Monday for another appointment -- if I'm "still pregnant by then" according to the doc. We'll see!!!

37 weeks 4 days!
How far along? 37 weeks 4 days!
Weight gain/loss: I think the scale is broken! At my appointment on Monday the nurse said I was up 5lbs from last week... which I find highly unlikely! At my appointment 6 weeks ago I was weighed on one scale and two weeks later I was weighed on another scale which said I hadn't gained any weight. Then the next week I was weighed on the same scale as the first appointment and it said I gained 5 lbs... in ONE WEEK! I don't thinks so buddy!
Maternity clothes? I'm getting tired of them. Even the full panel pants don't cover my belly anymore. :-(
Stretch marks? Ha! I just ignore them.
Sleep? We are going to start training Lola to sleep in her own bed this weekend so I'm sure it will get even more difficult to hear her whining until she gets used to it -- but it was our fault for allowing her to sleep in our bed as a puppy, so we will just have to deal!
Best moment this week? Watching Justin trying to coax her out!
Movement: Has slowed down a little since she's running out of room, but the kicks are hard as ever!
Food cravings: Nothing specific, but I am really hungry all the time. I think it's because she's moved down away from my stomach and it actually has room to expand now!
Gender: Girl
Labor signs? Only a few contractions but my doctor says we're "making progress", so we'll see what that means at my next appointment on Tuesday!
Belly button in or out? It was out, but now looks more flat thank anything.
What I miss? Touching my feet, having ankle bones, being able to wear shoes other than flip flops, and of course, laying on my belly. I am ready to have tummy time with my little girl!
What I am looking forward to? Holding my baby in my arms and seeing her precious little face.
Weekly wisdom: Sleep when you can, even if it's in the middle of the day.
Milestones: Reaching 37 weeks -- which is considered full term!

36 weeks 5 days!
How far along? 36 weeks 5 days!
Weight gain/loss: After no gain the last two weeks, I'm still up 14 total.
Maternity clothes? Are starting to feel a little small.
Stretch marks? Who's counting?!
Sleep? We're getting into a rhythm so my tossing and turning has become second nature.
Best moment this week? The ultrasound photo my OB gave us on Tuesday!
Movement: She's active all the time!
Food cravings: Nothing really.
Gender: Girl
Labor signs? Just practice contractions every once in a while.
Belly button in or out? Mostly out now.
What I miss? Laying on my stomach. (and being able to see my lady bits!)
What I am looking forward to? Reading to Avery in our new glider that is all put up in her room.
Weekly wisdom: If your husband won't rub your feet, it's totally worth it to pay someone else to do it.
Milestones: My OB confirmed baby girls is officially head down and ready to go!

Chubby Cheeks!
On Tuesday I had a regular check up appointment and the doctor did and ultrasound to check Avery's position.
Normally they say babies are too big at this point to get a clear picture, but my wonderful OB was able to get one and gave it to us.
I can't tell if her cheeks really are that chubby, or if it's just the way her head is positioned, but either way we are in love.
She told us that Avery will likely not wait until her due date to make her entrance to the world, but that if she doesn't come by August 16, they will induce. I sure hope I don't have to wait that long, but I would at least like her to keep cooking a little while longer in there to be nice and healthy and strong when she comes out!

Art Project!
Today Justin & I were on a mission to get some of the last things we still needed for the nursery. One of the few things we've been putting off is getting the letters to put on the wall above the crib. Today we finally decided on some from Michaels, but they needed to be painted.
We were going to wait to paint them until next weekend, but I couldn't wait! Check it out!
At first I painted the wrong side of the V -- they stuck the label on the wrong side! So once we hung it up, I had to take it down and paint the other side.
Here is the finished product!

A last hurrah!
Last weekend Justin & I took a road trip to Oregon to visit our friends Matt & Jessica.
On Friday we were able to get our maternity photos taken by Joe at Beyond Images. He and his wife, Stephanie, are the photographers who did our wedding too.
Then Justin played in a fundraiser golf tournament for the golf team at Matt's school. It was very successful and they were able to raise almost all the money they need for the entire season!
Once we got back on Sunday we celebrated 4th of a July with the Johnson's.
On Monday Holli & I had a girls day. Since she had a scheduled c-section on Tuesday we just relaxed. We shopped a little, had a nice leisurely lunch, and got pedicures. Since we were early to our appointment at the spa, we decided to dip our feet in the jacuzzi. One of the massage therapists came out looking for her client and we got her to take a picture for us!
It was a great way for Justin & I to have one last quick trip, just us two and a great way for Holli and I to spend our last day both pregnant together.
